LET US INVITE YOU TO VISIT THE MUSEUM OF MAGIC
Would you like to know how long various illusions and tricks have existed? Why magic and wizardry fascinate us but sometimes even frighten us? You will certainly find answers to these and other questions in the Museum of Magic in Jaroměř.
"The World Wants to Be Deceived" and people have, since time out of mind, been fascinated by everything that is puzzling, mysterious and unexplainable. Tricks and illusions as we know them today performed by magicians all over the world have been born out of this humanity's fascination with the unknown.
If you wish to lift a little the veil of secrecy of modern magicians and of the path that led to their beginnings, the Museum of Magic is just the ideal place for you to visit.
Besides the Museum of Magic and Wizardry, you can enjoy a fairy-tale labyrinth, puzzles or an exhibition of magic sculptures. In addition to that, a "Space Pyramid" you can draw energy from is worthy of mention.
Those visitors who are extremely eager for knowledge can use a telephone with a direct line to the netherworld.
The Museum of Magic is especially about Czech magic theatres and magic skills. In spite of that, the front part of the Museum tries to ask why and where magic, sorcery, wizardry and the supernatural came into being. It is quite a natural question the answers to which can be found in the Museum.
However, the idea and conception of the Museum of Magic is much wider. It is located in a magic place that includes a woodcut named "Sin Eater" or a one-hundred-year-old caravan or, for example, a replica of a medieval place of execution. The premises of the Museum also contain a roofed arbour (with a stage) to sit under and to watch magic programmes held there on a regular basis.
The founder and former curator of the museum was Mr. Jaroslav Zach who, after he finished his professional magician's career, started to be deeply interested in history and theory of magicians and illusionists' work. In the end, he crowned his efforts with founding the Museum of Magic.
At the present time, the operator of the Museum is "Michal Silorád's Magic Lodge" and the current curator of the Museum is Karel Kaspar.
